About Bakercakemaker

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We offer fresh baked goods made from scratch every day with no additives and from the best ingredients. We offer bread, pastries, and cakes that mirror LA Culture and LA Life.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
As the bread and pastry industry has become homogenized and moved on to mass production, we want to offer people a different variety of bread, pastries, and cakes that are made in small batches. We want to make good food that reflect the culture around us.

What do you love most about your job?
I love that I get to make people happy with food that is made with care. And I love the smell of the bakery in the morning when the bread and pastries start coming out of the oven. That's our magic hour.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
Customers always say that we make the best chocolate chip cookies and that the Oreo Stuffed Cookies are the most fun cookies of all time. My absolute favorite though is seeing people try ensaimadas for the first time. A heartwarming culinary first is a pretty sweet experience.

Everything (sans rival, ensaymada, ube cake, Spam bun) we had was so good! They were out of pandesal by the time we got there - gotta get there by noon next time to try theirs. Friendly owner who cares about his products. Need to try a bunch of other goodies next time.

Stopped by for treats this evening, 630p. Food of the Gods bar was dry and tasteless, likewise the Blondie Bar- it was brittle, like it was 2 or 3 days old. Maybe they only bake on the weekend? The only thing edible was the Toffee Cheesecake. Got the sticky bun and the morning bun for tomorrow, I will microwave it, as per the instructions, to warm it, hope they will be good with coffee. Now I am suspicious of all the 5 star reviews on Yelp. . . friends of the business? I'll refrain from writing a Yelp review, anyone can have a bad day. Maybe I'll try this place again on a Sat. They should check out the baked goods at Sycamore Kitchen in Hollywood---- those are fantastic, any time of the day.
