Kids had a great time still expensive with Groupon since we had to purchase food for the animals and ride tickets was displeased by the condition of the ponies giving rides they looked as if they were suffering and abused

The bird show and giraffe were taken down south so we weren't able to see them. The farm needs more rides and a magic show.

The place was gross, completely run down not worth even the groupon price. I felt like I was in a horror film. My kids were all in a rush to leave as was I. We will not be returning.

Go early but plan to stay all day. If the animals were not sleeping they were not labeled correctly. They had at least zebra spread around and not in one pen which was odd. No giraffe apparently he is wintering down south. Also, animal food was $7 which was outrageous. All in all the place appeared run down and is not worth the long drive getting there.

Good time with family! Without groupon doesn’t seem to be worth the admission price otherwise good deal and time

Great place!

It was okay. Overpriced $7 animal food was a bit much. Grounds not really kept up/landscaped. Animals were cute but not much variety wise.

We had a nice experience - my girls loved feeding and petting the animals. The facility could have been cleaner. We were disappointed that their giraffe had gone south for the winter. My daughter’s had their hearts set on feeding him.

From Our Editors

Founded in 1970, Long Island Game Farm is a family-friendly destination that showcases wildlife and animals through education and entertainment. The farm is home to hundreds of animals, including both exotic and indigenous breeds. What's more, unlike most zoos, the farm lets visitors interact with animals.

  • A variety of animals are onsite including red kangaroos, coatimundi, Barbados sheep, peacocks, and the only lemurs born and bred on Long Island. There's also various breeds of monkeys, buffalo, colorful parrots, zebra, ostrich, and alligator. In the summer, an 18-foot giraffe named Clifford roams the grounds along with camels and lemurs.
  • "Please touch" is the farm's motto. There's plenty of areas where visitors can actually touch and feed the animals, from pony rides to the petting zoo, which lets visitors pet, cuddle, and bottle feed baby animals.
  • Enjoy nature: Explore nature trails that lead to places like "Bambiland" and "The Nursery."
  • Take a ride on classic carnival-style rides such as spinning teacups and an antique carousel.
