Can't Stop Smokin' BBQ - Mesa, Mesa

I’ve always left 5-star reviews for this place, but it’s been a while since I ordered the BBQ Dinner for four. This time I tried a few different items, so maybe these dishes have always tasted like this, but the experience wasn’t the same at all. The garlic mashed potatoes smelled horrible and unfortunately tasted the way they smelled. I can’t imagine they were fresh or that much effort went into preparing them. The same goes for the spicy beans - they just didn’t seem right. To be fair, most of the food was still edible, although even the ribs were a little dry. The only thing I truly couldn’t eat was the garlic potatoes. I worked on this quite a bit adding garlic, salt, pepper but there was just a smell and after taste I couldn't cover up. I honestly wonder if there may have been a new cook that day, because the food felt very different from what I’m used to getting here.Always, 5 stars, made by a cook who really cares, but Friday was just not the same. The service also felt a bit different. One of the guys was amazing, and the woman at the register was just great. In fact, her service was the best. It was the guy at meats who was so different from the last guy I gave a 5 star to. Perhaps it was me, he saw me and just didn't have it in him to provide good service. I'll never know. I’m hoping this was just an off day,

One of the best BBQ spots around! Highly recommend. Everyone is so friendly, portion sizes are phenomenal. Food is DELICIOUS!! You won’t be disappointed
