Groupon should never allow Hairpower Salon in Westville, CT to participate ever again. I purchased a $59 Groupon for haircut w/ conditioning plus choice of either partial highlights or single-process color). I opted for the single process color. The stylist was rude and unfriendly the whole time and made me feel as if he was doing me a favor. In short I number the things that went wrong: 12 noon appt. I walked in to be rudely told that the stylist was also on his lunch break. The place smells HORRIBLE, musty and the place looks like a garage. I asked him what brand of hair color he used (as I’m allergic to Wella) only to be told what difference does it make? THE COLOR HE USED DID NOT COVER MY GRAY AT ALL, I walked out looking the same way I walked in, if not worst and the gray is now silver covered. AND he knew it but NEVER MADE AN EFFORT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I requested to use a round brush on my hair for volume, he refused it, this salon does not have/use/offer ANY styling products for your hair, they must use some cheap shampoo & conditioner and that's it. I thought vendors using Groupons were hoping to get NEW CUSTOMERS but my experience is that this vendor wanted to scare customers away or SIMPLY MAKE A QUICK BUCK. Did I also mention that there was only one other customer there the whole time? What was the benefit of using Groupon if I paid a full $59 tab to color my hair (my regular hairdresser charges $50) to only wound up looking WORST than before and getting aggravated by the lack of respect and professionalism. Hairpower Salon as a vendors can easily drag Groupon’s reputation down the gutter. I WISH I COULD GET A REFUND!

I think $55 for a haircut (regular price) is a lot of money. I'm grateful I got a good haircut and very grateful to have gotten it at a reasonable price with the Groupon.

They should actually be embarrassed for doing Groupon, the Salon is still not at that level, they are in the infancy stages and should wait about a good 10years before offering 'full' Salon services; Just saying.
