The food is excellent althought the portions are very small for the steep price paid. Upon being seated I immediately ordered a glass of red wine. Later the same waiter came to take my order and after telling him what I wanted he asked if I'd like anything to drink and I told him that I had already ordered a glass of wine from him. By the time I arrived at the restaurant at 9:20 p.m. they had already run out of the leg of lamb entree which is why I wanted to eat there in the first place and use the Groupon. They had also run out of rabbit. They ran out of two of their most popular items. People must really like this place as every table except one was occupied when I arrived at 9:20 p.m. I enjoyed the meal of salmon on a bed of julienned vegetables very much. The sauce that accompanied it was out of this world. I highly recommend this restaurant in spite of the fact that the waiter forgot my wine order right off the bat. As I was seated in front of the window facing Broadway (I sat facing the interior of the restaurant) and very close to the computer/cashier station I could easily get the waiter's attention which I did several times during the course of my meal. He even switched my chair for me as the back had a steep incline so much so that I thought it was broken. The replacement chair was identical so I just sat upright instead of sitting way back in the chair at what was an uncomfortable angle for me. However after enjoying my meal and before dessert I relaxed into the incline of the chair and at that point I could appreciate why the chair was designed that way. The apple tart tasted as if it had been microwaved as the apples had a mushy texture so the dessert was a huge disappointment even though the main course was wonderful.

We actually went to Cafe du Soleil, but I'm assuming it comes through under this name. The food was excellent, atmosphere very nice. Overall a very pleasant experience. Appreciated having the discount.

There are too many restaurants in NYC I haven't tried to go to Cafe du Soleil more than once.
