I found Metamorphosis a few years ago via Groupon and I keep going back, even when a Groupon isn't available. I'm a fan of this unexpected and unassuming oasis in midtown.

I bought the signature massage and was surprised when she started putting something really hot on my back. Then the foot thing was so burning hot - she lowered the heat to where it was comfortable, but I feel like if something is comfortable to the hand and it's warm in the room, it should be fine - was she just not checking before putting it on me? The massage was fine, though it didn't really focus on my problem I told her in the beginning. And I had to tell the masseuse what scents I couldn't have since I didn't have to fill out any paperwork in the beginning. Masseuse was very nice. Eh - not worth $150 for a massage without Groupon.
