Wonderful service. The two young ladies that took care of my family were so sweet. One had mentioned they shared the same name which I have forgotten but again they were very attentive, made my mothers birthday and my sisters visit from DC perfect!

The atmosphere is lovely! Our waitress was very helpful and accommodating. And super friendly. We went on a quiet Thursday night. Def drink the sangria slowly! The blue one is sweet and sneaky! The paella... Perfect. Would definitely go back :))

The waitress automatically added 20% gratuity on a two person order...something I've never experienced. Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend it!

We were very disappointed. Service was poor. One of our party of 4 received his soup and the rest had to wait 10 minutes for ours. Lobster and shrimp was dry and overcooked. There are many great resturants in the Ironbound and Vivo is not one of them.

Amazing atmosphere, really good food, great sangria!!! I am picky. This place is real good though. Nice and safe area in Newark also. Yes, that does exist!

From Our Editors

Plumes of fragrant steam swirl above bowls as waiters deliver hefty portions of paella to red-linen-topped tables inside Vivo Tapas Lounge. In the paella, clamshells, shrimp, mussel shells, and pearly scallops pop amid a heap of golden saffron rice. The eatery’s paella complements a list of hot and cold tapas, all of which exemplify the restaurant's Zagat rating of very good to excellent food. On small tapas plates, chefs arrange tiny patties of spanish tuna or mushrooms stuffed with onions, bacon, pine nuts, and mozzarella cheese. After meals, the crowd can get to their feet and dance the night away amid colorful beams of light and exposed-brick walls. Sheer curtains cordon off private seating with tufted, high-backed banquettes for VIP parties and laid-back tax audits.
