Lone Oak Golf Course, Nicholasville

Some very pretty holes. More par 5's than one would expect on a short course. And the telescopes that allow you to see over hills at several T boxes are most unusual. Water on about 4 holes increases the challenge. Allows you to take every shot in the bag.

Nice, fair layout; generous fairways; several very pretty holes with large trees at the back of greens; 3 or 4 water holes where for me the water acted too often as a magnet causing otherwise nice shots to find the drink - this is a mature, tree lined golf course, carefully designed and maintained by members for decades; a joy to play.

There are some rough areas around the course, but most of it was in real good shape and it was a fun course to play. Will play again.

The people were exceptionally nice. The pro shop was adequate. The course was fine for us. Cart paths were somewhat confusing and often just ended in the grass. We spent time trying to find paths and holes. Otherwise, a nice golf experience.
