About The Lois Elaine

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?

The services my business offers is a relaxing night aboard a Floating Bed & Breakfast. The décor is eclectic and the vibe is comfortable. At this point, there are only winter openings for a stylish stay. The boat is equipped with air conditioning and heat for your comfortability level.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

My inspiration is wanting to be an innkeeper and owning a houseboat. The name stems from my grandmother whom I was very close. The love story between her and my grandfather inspired the date night.

What do you love most about your job?

I love hearing that guests enjoy the space and one another when they are aboard!

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

The best reaction is hearing about an excellent experience and when a guest says my grandmother's name when they call.

Also offered by the Lois Elaine is a two hour Happy Hour for $30 that includes a bottle of wine, fruit and cheese.

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. We enjoyed sitting on the bench on the bow of the boat but were disappointed with the clutter and lack of space to spend time together inside the boat. Too many plants & empty plant pots we were claustrophobic. The bathroom did not have a door for any privacy & the ceiling in the bedroom was so low I could barely sit up & Im 5’2”. Not what we expected.

The date night was for 3 hours but we only stayed about 30 minutes. The boat is way too cluttered! The plants are overwhelming and there was hardly anywhere to sit and relax. We went in January and it was too cold to sit outside. The downstairs area smelled musty, so good thing we weren't staying the night! Not to mention my husband is 6'4" so not comfortable for him. The cheese and grape platter didn't look that fresh. We ate a little but left most of it. I gave 2 stars because communication for setting up a time and getting into the boat area was easy. I would not do it again!

I surprised my wife with this unique date experience. She loved it. We had a wonderful time aboard this quaint little houseboat. We plan on coming back and spending the night.
