Lakes

At this stately restaurant that sprawls throughout Troy's Met Hotel, chefs celebrate regional seafood with dishes such as Great Lakes trout stuffed with crab. Locavores will also fawn over decor salvaged from the Macauley Mansion and a selection of Michigan beers that complements a wine list with a decade's worth of Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence.

Coach Insignia

There's also an award-winning wine selection at Coach Insignia, a white-linen steakhouse on the top floor of GM Renaissance Center. In fact, the sky-high location has led to loads of awards, including honors for Most Romantic Restaurant and Best View from the Detroit Metro Times. As guests drink in 360-degree views of Michigan and Canada, they chew on grass-fed Prime rib-eye and butter-poached lobster.

Novi Chophouse

Novi brings a more international approach to its namesake city—the menu features everything from beef wellington and steak au poivre to tuna sashimi and Maine lobster. The standout drinks here are the liquors, thanks to craft cocktails and an extensive selection of bourbon, whiskey, and scotch.

Plaza Deli

Plaza is decidedly more casual than its Epicurean counterparts. Digital menu screens hang above the walk-up counter at this otherwise traditional deli, where reubens and tuna melts are the stars of the show. Smoked-fish platters are a specialty, too, available during breakfast or lunch service.
