Cafe Madrid, Oakland

I bought a groupon for "tapas" when in reality you are a cafe/sandwich shop that happens to have a few tapas like items on the menu. I was disappointed, but not because the food or service wasn't good, but because I felt like it was false advertising.

The service was terrible - not due to the servers themselves but just too few people to handle the work. Many of the items we wanted on the menu were out and the preparation of the food was uneven. We liked the place before and were very sorry that we won't return.

Takes a very long time to get your food and it wasn't very good.

There sandwiches are pretty good, especially the eggplant and goat cheese sandwhich! However, I probably wouldn't go back if they didn't have that particular sandwich. It's hard to find parking downtown Oakland and their decor is a little to be desired. Overall, not bad.
