This is pretty much the best instructional yoga I have done to date. The teacher is patient and attentive. She shows you the proper way to do poses and will stop to show you ones you don't know or modified versions. I felt each stretch and even sweat! She does other classes too. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I appreciate the intimacy of this studio! No fighting for class space, no marketing spiels, just casual and straightforward instruction in a welcoming and nonjudgemental space.

From Our Editors

Led by seasoned hatha yoga practitioner Valerie Rushmere, Studio 1831 immerses guests in an environment focused on fitness and spiritual health. Also a master belly dancer who performs under the stage name Valarina, Rushmere leads classes that cover the beguilingly, sinuous shimmies of Egyptian and cabaret-style belly dance as well as friendly, open yoga sessions. In addition to classes, Studio 1831 offers Art of Burlesque girls' nights out, wherein groups of up to 20 learn exotic dance moves.
