Bad Transaction The worst Groupon experience by far occurred for me at Healing Palms Day Spa. There were two disturbing issues. The first was a scheduling error and second but most important the lack of quality within the services offered. My Groupon had an expiration date in June. I called Healing Palms and was informed that the next available opening was on July 11th. I provided my Groupon code and booked an appointment. After being informed that it is necessary to provide an eight hour cancelation notice in order to avoid losing a session I set the appointment for 11am. “The 11th at 11” is what we agreed in order to remember the scheduled appointment date and time. When I arrived in Phoenix, from Glendale I called and was told that there had been a scheduling error and asked to return an hour later. When Healing Palms was ready to receive me I was offered one free session for the scheduling error which was nice however when I began to read and sign the terms of service form I was told that my Groupon had expired on the 18th of June. I was told that since the Groupon had expired and since the five sessions “Deal” that I had purchased was no longer available I would need to pay the difference in order to have a single session. I was told that I would not be refunded any money by Healing Palms and that they were not obligated to compensate me in any form since the Groupon had expired. I was asked what I wanted in order to be “happy” because the spa technician did not want to leave a bad impression with me about Healing Palms Day Spa. Disappointed and tired by the ordeal I agreed to have the session. The session involved having L.E.D. heating pads placed on the body. The pads heat and light up in order to help remove unwanted body fat. Truly the experience was not worth the aggravation. A better Groupon purchase would have been for membership to a gym/fitness facility/exercise DVD. “Caveat Emptor” no words are truer when pertaining to Healing Palms Day Spa in Phoenix.
