Be prepared to listen to awful chanting music from India while you have your massage. That was the only thing I didn't like. I did not find it peaceful, but annoying. Otherwise, it was a very good experience.

It was a lovely, relaxing experience. Lots of beneficial oils used -- including lots on the head/hair. Don't make plans for several hours after, as you leave there with wet-looking hair and aren't supposed to shower it off for at least two hours!

Heather is a great therapist! Leave extra time to allow for full relaxation afterwards!

Give time to just rest after using this massage, I had made other plans right after this!

The massage is different from other massages. Lots of oils which is good but plan on having oil on your skin for a little while. Friendly staff.

This type of massage was extremely oily. Had to cancel plans afterwards. Enjoyed the massage, but felt quite squishy. Therapist helped my hand discomfort.

You'll have oil in your hair--so don't make plans to go out that night and wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit of oil on when you dress again after. But it was wonderful!

It was different. Not your typical massage that you would get at a salon. It was more involved like the way they treat you at a day spa....robes, food, water, lots and lots of oil.

I had a wonderful experience at AIWI in Robinson Twp. It was a very spiritual experience. I would recommend it to anyone, and certainly want to go back.

From Our Editors

Supervised by Ayurvedic physician and healer Dr. Lina Thakar, the specialists at Ayurveda Integrative Wellness Institute reach 5,000 years into the past when administering their Indian therapeutic techniques. The Ayurvedic philosophy centers on the individuality of each person, leading the staff to customize their blends of herbal oils and scents before beginning their Ayurvedic spa treatments. These calming procedures range from steam therapy to healing oil massage, with focuses such as detoxification and healing the mind, body, and spirit. During massage, technicians use several Ayurvedic techniques along the body's energy channel to help restore the flow of vital energy wherever it has become blocked. This in combination with herbal oils help squeeze out toxins to detoxify the body. The center also imparts wellness consultations on Ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle options, as well as meditation.
