About Lidia's Pittsburgh
Lidia Bastianich may be best known as the Emmy-winning host of the PBS series Lidia’s Family Table, wherein she cooks Italian feasts alongside her mother and children. But that’s just one place where the chef combines her passions for food and family. Aside from authoring several cookbooks, Lidia also owns several restaurants, including Lidia’s Italy Pittsburgh, where loved ones gather to enjoy cuisine inspired by her northern Italian upbringing.
Culturally-Rich Cuisine
Lidia was born in Pula, Istria, which was once part of Italy. The multicultural city provided her with an expansive palate that is reflected in dishes such as osso buco made with heritage-breed braised pork shank and cabbage rolls stuffed with pork, beef, and veal. However, Lidia's Italy Pittsburgh is best known for its pasta trio, which grants diners unlimited servings of the chef’s choice of three housemade pastas.
A Cozy and Sophisticated Space
Two enormous blown-glass chandeliers hang from the restaurant’s lofted ceilings, casting an amber hue on the open space designed by award-winning architect David Rockwell. Decorated in deep reds, yellows, and oranges, the spacious, yet cozy dining room’s floor-to-ceiling slate fireplace keeps diners warm as the open kitchen’s mouthwatering aromas waft through the air.
