Your Groupon deal is a rip off. The portions from bread to salad to entrees, were tiny, and certainly not worth what we paid for the groupon, much less the tip. Afterwards, looked at Yelp and saw the many similar groupon complaints. I am surprised that Groupon has continued to offer this bad deal to its members.

FYI pass it on don't go to Giogio's Yikes I should have checked Yelp reviews before I purchased a groupon $40 (value $80). What you read about this place from other one and two star reviews is true. I made reservation over the phone and was suspicious of the hours of a supposedly upscale restaurant in The Pearl District 5:00 to 9:00? Really? But, this was planned by me to treat my son and daughter-in-law when I came to visit and was hoping for something special. On a beautiful Friday night the three of us arrived on time for our 6:30 reservation. Only two other tables were occupied and we were seated near the door instead of inside at a more intimate location. The waiter handed us two of the prix fixe menus which I fully understand and was prepared for and one regular menu. His demenour was abrupt and uninterested as if he just wanted to get this over with. Without going through the whole story, let me just say that we were treated rudely to say the least. He didn't tell us the specials for the one dinner that we were ordering off the menu. When he didn't come back for a while all three of us actually got up to read the chalk board. He was annoyed when I asked what the chef's choice salad was off the prix fixe menu, I expected more but was told "mixed lettuce". Is that all? I asked no tomatoes or anything else? As this is one of the three choices of starters I expected a value of more than mixed lettuce. Cold pea soup didn't appeal and the cod cakes were out so meatballs were the other option. He could have cared less about treating us with respect and decency. Even though I was fully prepared to add additional items from the regular menu to complete our dinner (and in effect increase the tab and his tip) It felt like because we had a groupon voucher we were no better than beggars off the street or food stamp recipients. My daughter-in-law had enough of the way he was treating us and called the manager over and we dismissed this server if we were to stay. The manger attempted to make things right and finished serving the meal. The food was adequate and tasty, and in the end we had a check for $160 minus the voucher of 40 and courtesy discount of 20 for a total of 100. I left a generous tip though now I think I was wrong to do so as the manager was most likely the owner and I needn't have done that. It was a very awkward time. My feeling is that the locals are all on to this bit of bad business and don't go there. That is why you will see on these reviews that it is not crowded. I feel like I have SUCKER written all across my forehead. For three people I shelled out $170 for a mediocre meal that was fraught with distress and discomfort. Beware! P.S. This is my first review on Yelp or anywhere. It needed to be told. what a disappointment.

Charming restaurant, reminds us of a true Italian trattoria Consistently good food and attentive wait staff Good wine list Classic options on the menu – try the boar Ragu - as well as new surprises Have had dinner there more than 10 times over the past few years Looking forward to our next visit
