About Tulum inc

Tulum is a Mexican restaurant and bar that incorporates Mayan influences into their recipes. Using fresh and local ingredients, chefs at Tulum create colorful dishes that can be shared with friends and family in relaxed surroundings. Their menu features antojitos, which literally translates to "small cravings", enchiladas, tacos, burritos, fajitas and vegetarian dishes. At Tulum, patrons can enjoy authentic Mexican entrees, such as huaraches, a fried masa base topped with chorizo, steak, queso fresco and diced cactus paddles or chimichanga, a deep-fried burrito with meat, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole.

I can't really say that I like the food, the only thing that was pleasing was the warm chips and salsa when they first came out. The guacamole didn't have a taste to it the rice was kind of mushy soft we had to keep asking for things that we ordered that were supposed to come with the food originally the young lady who was waiting on us wasn't very knowledgeable. The drink we ordered was good.

Girlfriend and I went on Saturday night 6/23 around 8:30pm and place was fairly empty. We were told they were closing at 9:30pm despite the hours posted online stated a 12 midnight closing time (probably due to the slow night). However we were still seated right away, and the waiter was very energetic and attentive, offering some good margarita suggestions while we decided on food. Once we ordered the food it came out pretty quick and was very good/fresh, not the "fast food" style Mexican with 56 menu choices, but in reality all are made from the same 7 ingredients just rearranged differently on a plate. Tulum uses real marinated steak in the chimichangas along with fresh guacamole on the side. The portions were sizable and my girlfriend and I both took about half of our meals home for leftovers, which were still good the next day when reheated. Overall, we will definitely try again in the future and would recommend to others, but would also suggest calling ahead and double checking their closing hours before heading out, especially in the evenings, just in case they try to close early due to a slow night.
