Service was very attentive. But food was not as described in the menu. I ordered a chicken dish, but I got served a plate of shredded chicken (?) paste and some tiny tortillas. I really couldn't identify the meat. Now taste - it was okay. But presentation was just disappointing.

The food was barely warm. I asked the waiter to zap it in the microwave. When he brought it back, he said he put it in the oven. The plate was hot, but the food was still cold. I asked for 2 take home boxes, and had mine for lunch the next day!

service was also not up to snuff. somewhat inattentive. Other's walked in while we ate and stood there not being greeted, long enough to turn around and leave. Some left when discovering that happy hour ended at six. Our drinks were very small.

I have never had beans taste so horribly. The meat I ordered felt kind of rushed and there was quite a few pieces of pink on the inside. I would recommend not trying to rush their food out, specially since when I went there was only one more other table that had already been there before us. For the beans I would suggest not watering it down because that is what they tasted like watered down and without flavor. It seemed like the beans were just canned and were cooked with other ingredients that did not seem to complement each other.

From Our Editors

Zesty Mexican Grill & Bar veers away from the path beaten by typical Tex-Mex restaurants. Instead, the chefs zero in on regional Mexican recipes, specializing in dishes from Veracruz along with unique vegetarian options. Take the Mexican pizzas: the chefs start by baking—not frying—a flour tortilla for the cracker-crisp base, before topping it with a house-made, spicy tomato sauce, cheese, and brisket. For the non-meat-eaters, the Veracruz potato cakes, loaded with spicy jalapenos, roasted corn, and cheddar cheese—and served with salsa and pickled jalapeno—might even give meat-loving dining companions something to think about. Regardless of the guest's chosen entree, each meal begins with fresh chips and salsa, which pair nicely with a cold draft beer or margarita.
