Sort out the drink situation (all they had was ginger ale or orange juice). The food is fantastic! We loved that you had Fox Soccer on the big screen TV over the bar!!!

Don't put the word "bar" in your restaurant name unless you offer bar selections. Or soda!

Food is excellent BUT we ordered lentils ($8.00) to go. When we got home and opened the container we found it full of injera but only about a cup of lentils. I think either the price for the lentils needs to come down or the amount in the portion needs to increase. I know now that i would never order only the lentils.

Whenever I go out to Ethiopian, the service is extremely slow. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it were easy to catch a waiter's eye, but it is very difficult to even grab someone's attention. Other than that, I will always keep coming back, the food is fantastic.

From Our Editors

The green, red, and yellow sign perched above the corner of University Avenue and North Union definitively marks the spot of Meda Ethiopian Bar and Restaurant, where passersby can venture in for dishes that are just as colorful as its marker. Within, gleaming wood stretches out along a lengthy bar and extends up the brick walls to form a thick, angular archway. The restaurant's spacious setup—characterized by high ceilings—quickly cedes attention to its traditional Ethiopian dishes. The chefs sizzle up tender morsels of meat including yebeg tibs—cubed lamb simmered in a blend of berbere and onions, ginger roots, and warm herbal butter—and vegetable-centered spreads such as split lentils and ground chickpeas.
