We go to 4 or 5 games a year and always enjoy it. Only 4 stars because they lost all 5 games we attended this year. The seats were good though and the price quite reasonable.

Five Things to Know About AT&T Park

A beautiful green pitch might be at the center of AT&T Park, but the stadium has more than just baseball at its heart. Read on for more facts about the Giants’ home base:

  • Fans call it all sorts of names. Some call it “The Phone Booth” because of its history of being bought by different telephone companies, while others call it “Mays Field” for Giants legend Willie Mays.
  • The stadium walls heard the crack of a history-making home run. It was here that Barry Bonds hit his 756th home run, which broke the record for all-time career home runs formerly held by Hank Aaron.
  • AT&T Park hosts much more than just baseball. It’s also hosted Roger Waters’s haunting performance of The Wall and Kanye West’s proposal to Kim Kardashian.
  • The park is festooned with statues and art. Marvel at a 9-foot statue of Willie Mays, 14-foot statue of Willie McCovey, and colorful WPA-era murals commissioned as part of the New Deal.
  • The most popular food item isn’t a hot dog. It’s the signature sandwich from Crazy Crab’z—buttery Dungeness crab and tomato on grilled sourdough. It might seem a little decadent (and pricey) for ballpark grub, but it’s a fan favorite. NPR’s take: “People here really love this sandwich. Usually when there's a line this long at a stadium, there's a urinal at the end of it.”
