About The King & I

Chefs at King and I inject spice into dinnertime by preparing authentic Thai cuisine with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and artful presentation. I have been a fan of the King and I for years, until yesterday. I found a piece of hair in my food, for the 2nd time and I really got no apology. I asked for the menu, to order something else, then the waitress had the audacity to say "Well if you order you can't send it back!" First of all I would only send a dish back if something was wrong with it. I wanted to order the Nam Tok, they said they didnt have the ingredients to make the dish, Ordered the shrimp cakes. didnt have those ingredien I was utterly appalled at her comments, and so disgusted, that I just asked for the check. Then the cook had the nerve to come out and see who the person was that sent the hair laden food back.

King & I would not accept our Groupon. They told us we had already used it and we haven't. We've never been there... It was obviously a mix up. Also both of our entrees were not prepared properly. I ordered Mixed Vegetables w NO ToFu, spicy. It was brought to the table w Tofu and not spicy. My husband ordered Pad Thia Chicken w NO Brussel sprouts and no scallions. His came out with both Brussel sprouts and scallions on it.... We both ordered beer in bottles. They brought us out 2 room temperature drinking glasses to pour our beer into instead of 2 chilled mugs!! :( Very disappointed !!!

I do not recommend any tips! Do not expect much when you go. Poor service, language barrier and King & I did not accept our Groupon... Ele, Chive and Tangerine are awesome compared to King & I..., Dont waste your time here!
