About Crunch

Fitness industry veteran Dulcinea Lee Hellings's goal is to bring a high-quality, effective exercise regimen to people who don't love big gyms or can't afford personal trainers. In 2004, she realized that mornings could be used for more than hitting the snooze button over and over for two hours, and founded Boot Camp "Morning Crunch!" to help fledgling exercisers whip into shape.

She designs her all-levels programs to be scream-free morning motivators⎯the first stop in her patrons' journey of daily accomplishments. The fast-paced, ever-changing circuit of strength and cardio exercises keeps bodies guessing and minds from becoming bored. Each of the boot camp's outdoor locations has a different dedicated trainer who gets to know each student personally, remembering their names and memorizing any interesting freckle patterns. They complement their morning routines with a smattering of evening options for those who prefer to work out after the day's activities.

I used morning crunch about 5 yrs ago and loved them. The coach (Sean) didn't even show up to my site and I received no further calls from Dulce after she said she would look into the matter. I waited for about 45 min at the park and then left. Not sure what happened, but I'm requesting a refund and re-joining the YMCA. What a waste of time.

The first day, I waited around for about 30 minutes, driving around the entire park looking for the bootcamp. It was only after 6 am when I was able to locate the group. So naturally, I was not to fond that I had to search for the group. In terms of the program itself, it wasn't exactly what I had expected. The workouts were a loose version of HIIT training. I was sweaty by the end of each workout but I never felt a burn. In fact, I would hit the gym afterwards to lift weights in order to feel a burn. There was not a food program provided, although the trainer was nice enough to email us an outline of what we should be eating. I didn't lose any weight over the course of the weeks, although I can say I feel a little bit stronger and I see a little difference at my waist line. I would say that Morning Crunch can be a motivator for those that absolutely do not work out at all. Personally, it was ok. I have had more intensive bootcamps that were free, by someone who is not really a trainer, and I had better results. I am not sure if I would recommend this program in general but for those folks that work at Fox studios, it wouldn't be a bad idea as it is right across the street.
