About Mom & Dad's Italian Restaurant

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, after more than 65 years, many as co-owners, Gary and Diana "Mama" McLean contemplated closing Mom and Dad's Italian Restaurant on August 31, 2013. Today, "Mama" has partnered with another Italian restaurant family which carries on their tradition of crafting masterful versions of timeless Italian dishes. Classic toppings, such as artichoke hearts and sausage, still crown housemade thin-crust pizzas, while multiple generations continue to enjoy the spaghetti A-La-Bruzzi and lasagna. Besides feasts in-house, Mom and Dad's cooks help you create personalized meals with their take-home ingredients, including housemade loaves and mushrooms sauces.

The worst Italian food ever. I had to send two dishes back. The food I ordered looked and tasted terrible. The restaurant at Bannerman Crossing is totally different from the one on Parkway where I have gone several times and enjoyed meals. I won’t be going back.

I ordered veal and it was VERY TOUGH. I sent it back and was treated like I did something wrong. I then reordered eggplant parmigiana and it SUCKED it was served in a metal boat which to me is the absolute worst. One of the most unbelievable things was that salad DOES NOT come with dinner you have to pay extra. The tomato sauce was not a fresh vibrant red color it was a OVER COOKED brown color. The best part of the meal was the bread BUT they charge for that also. I will NEVER go back even it it was free.
