We were very disappointed. We had been here many years before and had fond memories. You may have changed chefs. This one does not know how to make Marsala.

Perhaps it was an off night, however, Much too expensive for what you receive. The marinara was delicious but the Marsala did not even hint at the correct recipe. In the future, I will buy the pasta sauce at the grocery and save a bundle. I am not sure if the prices charged were those posted on the menu. Our bill was higher than we expected. Did not want to ask for a menu to check. I may be incorrect.

Our meals were delicious - the service was excellent. Our only comment was that they now serve a different mixture of oil and vinegar and spices/herbs as a dipping sauce with their bread. We missed the garlic!!!

I used to love their chicken saverio, but they changed their menu and it's no longer offered. We also used to love their rolls and dipping sauce, but now they only offer breadsticks and they changed their dipping sauce and it's not nearly as good. Villa has been our favorite place for years, but now I don't think we'll be going back unless I hear they have gone back to what made it our favorite. Very sad.

My husband and I were very disappointed. We were seated in the back of the restaurant - kind of like a small banquet room with bright lights. I asked the server if they had rose wine, and she responded "I don't drink - didn't they offer you a wine list?" I selected another choice. We were not offered another drink until our meals arrived which was a long, long time. The couples next to us were so so loud, my husband and I couldn't hear each other. My husband's steak was very good. I had another Groupon that was expired, but thought it was always good for the $10. I purchased it for. The server said no - we have had problems with expired Groupons, which should never expire.

From Our Editors

For the Valenti family, cooking is a way of life. From a father whose family owned an Italian restaurant in Troy for 70 years to a mother who mastered the art of cooking as 1 of 22 kids, the couple's children learned to hand-make pasta as part of their upbringing. To this day, the chefs make manicotti, lasagna, and ravioli from scratch, demonstrating a dedication to tradition that permeates the menu of home-style cooking. Comfy booths, Italian murals, and wood paneling pack the restaurant’s dining room, where welcoming servers whisk fresh-cut veal, thick steaks, and succulently sautéed chicken dishes to tables with efficient speed and well-practiced victory dances.

Villa Valenti’s chefs also bottle their signature sauces—originally purloined from a wealthy tomato and perfected over generations—for at-home use, sending every penny of profit to help Prevent Child Abuse America in its noble mission.
