I am writing this out so you don’t have to suffer the same. STAY AWAY! If you are reading this post, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I am filing a complaint to the CVBC (College of Veterinarians of British Columbia) to stop this hospital from endangering other animals.
I took my dog to Cypress St. Animal hospital for boarding after purchased a 5-day dog boarding deal. The week before I drop off my dog, I called and confirmed all documents and vaccinations requirements are up to date. On the day of drop off, the old lady in reception demanded my husband to buy another box of flea treatment otherwise they won’t take my dog. He had no choice but to pay for the treatment, since we have no one else to take care the dog that last minute. He did pay and sign the receipt for the treatment.
When I go in to pick up my dog, the old lady asked me to pay a vaccination for Bordetella, which neither my husband or I consented, plus our dog’s vaccination is still valid for another 3 month. She started yelling that it is their facility policy to have all of the dogs to be vaccinated within 6 month, and she did have my husband’s consent. When I asked the lady when and why they did the vaccination without calling or emailing us, she started to yell at me and threaten to call the police if I don’t pay and won’t let me leave. She then lied that she had my husband’s consent when he dropped off the dog, when I called and confirmed with my husband about the consent, she then started to yell at my husband over the phone. 5 minutes later, the Doctor came out and yelled at me for creating a scene, when I confronted him why didn’t he contact me when they do the vaccination, he straight lied to me that they did but they couldn’t reach me. The exact opposite of what the lady just told me 5 minutes ago. Also, when I had to call Saturday to ask about my dog, they sent out the email says he is doing great. That was the only email I ever got. When I question them what if my dog had an allergy after the shoot, they answered that my dog would have a reaction already if he is really allergic to the medicine. THIS IS WRONG and SICK!!! Them, he kept blocking me and pointing at me while talking, and won’t let me finish my questions. RUDE RUDE RUDE! When we finally get to leave, he kept yelling at us even after I left the place.
The tone and the language these people were WRONG. As a paying customer, I have the right to decline on the treatments for my pets, and I have to content before the events. Why would a person sign and consent to a flea treatment, but not another “mandatory” vaccination? Why would I only get one email, but not the one that you have never sent out? How would I know if they actually give the shot or not? How come you can never provide a proof of “facility policy” the whole time we are talking about it? STAY AWAY, or YOU WILL BE SORRY!
