The chicken chow mien was too salty. Otherwise your appetizers are great.

Appies were good, but the entrees were too heavily salted.

Delicious food, really tasty and fresh. Short rib and shitaki sliders to die for.

From the moment we stepped in, the smiling, friendly staff hinted that we should hurry up and get out of their restaurant. They came to our table several times in the first 15 minutes of our visit to see if we wanted to order yet, stood in the stairs staring at us as we ate (this more than once!), and hovered over us, sweeping in to take any dish that they decided we were finished with. Every dish we ordered had a crispy, fried element to it; we left feeling ill. And though the decor is well-conceived, it is poorly executed, and comes-off as shabby, rather than chic.

The starters, although they did taste good (chicken sliders, veg spring rolls) were very oily - I changed my plate since there was a layer of oil in the one I used for my starters. The main course (chow mein, orange chili chicken and green beans) in my opinion was average at best. I would not go back there for the food.

Food was salty in general, most of all, the duck fried rice was extremely salty, I'm still drinking water and milk to let sodium out of my body. We were drinking water all night after dining out at terra cota and still woke up with swollen hands and face this morning. My body reacts to MSG in such way- I hope Terra cotta doesn't use MSG, I like to think that it is all due to sodium use. Service was nice , warmly greeted and pleasantly accommodated thru the evening. Shame, the food wasn't as good as everything else this restaurant has to offer.

From Our Editors

The woks at Terracotta Modern Cuisine sizzle with Chinese tapas-style dishes that meld traditional flavours with contemporary plating. The menu teems with small plates of golden squid, shiitake mushrooms, and five-spice crispy chicken sliders nestled in golden mantou buns, as well as vegetarian options including vegan spring and rice paper rolls, sesame noodle salad, and vegetarian noodle soup. The staff regularly visits Chinatown for ingredients for their fresh desserts, such as the housemade baked tapioca Happy Ending paired with green-tea gelato from La Casa.

Beneath the modern dining room’s softly glowing pendant lights, terracotta warriors styled after those of the Qin dynasty stand guard over the dark wood tables. Cushy, high-backed leather chairs encourage a leisurely meal punctuated by diners swapping tales or shouting "comma" every few words.
