I purchased the groupon for this concert with the intention of seeing 3 evenings filled with fantastic music on the beach. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. Hermine hit VA Beach early Saturday morning resulting in all of Fridays activities being cancelled with Saturday and Sunday's events moved to the convention center. Upon arrival on Saturday we found out that one of the main acts was unable to make it due to travel restrictions. All told instead of 3 evenings of concerts we ended up with one and a half. Given the fact that this festival occurs every year in the middle of hurricane season I would think that the organizers might have a better backup plan than a convention center with absolutely horrible acoustics. Additionally, it would be nice if they offered a partial refund or credit for future festivals given that over half of the groups we paid to see did not go on. What we were able to see was fun despite the changes. I will plan to attend next year with fingers crossed that Mother Nature will be kinder next year and that the organizers will use this year as a learning experience.
