About Brasas Grill

In the kitchens of Brasas Grill, El Salvador native Claudia Rivas brings culinary touches learned across Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Peru to her preparation of saffron-infused paella and chilean sea bass. The grill's slate of Latin-American dishes "couldn't be more different from the chicken fingers and burgers served at all the places around it," according to a 2012 review in the Washington Post Express. Reviewer Kristen Page-Kirby singled out the ceviche, as well as the "wine-infused, chewy steak-and-potatoes dish called solomillo al jerez." Elsewhere on the menu, meaty combination plates recall Brazilian-style churrascaria, setting Angus steak and barbecue ribs alongside lobster tails, mussels, and andouille sausage.

My wife and I arrived at the restaurant 5 min. before our 4 o'clock reservation time and had to wait until they unlocked the entrance door at the exact 4PM opening time. The hostess(owner?) was not there to welcome us, so the server had to seat us. The server also gave the impression of being new at this type of work. She did make a sincere effort to serve our meal in a timely manner. However, she received no support from either the hostess or the kitchen staff. There was a total of 3 or 4 tables being served. A lady was seated one table away from us after we ordered our appetizer, but she received her appetizer before we received ours. As a matter of fact she received her entree about the same time we received the appetizer. The hostess asked the lady if she had been there before, and the lady responded affirmatively. They then chatted for a few minutes. The hostess never came to our table and never spoke with us. The food was in the good/very good range. The ambiance was pleasant enough. But if they want the Brasas Grill to be thought of as an up scale restaurant, then they need to remove the large screen TV. Having the TV makes you feel like you are in "sports bar". The customer service was erratic/inconsistant. I felt as if we were alone in the restaurant. We will not be returning.

This is a very great restaurant as far as food, but sometimes service gets overwhelmed when it becomes busy. So you may be required to wait for a while
