Very slow service. Food was ok. Wouldn't make a special trip to Walnut Creek for the food.

Service was slow especially for water. Avocados were over ripe on the sushi. Dinner proportions very small. Didn't think they deserved much of a tip. They had the nerve to add in a mandatory tip for two people, using the amount of food plus tax as the base amount. All the waitress could do is say, "The computer is programed to do that, and I can't change it. Then had the nerve to ask for more tip, after their tip was added! Out of principle 1) All restaurants I have been to don't charge mandatory tip for two people. 2) Tip is based on the amount of food before taxes. We feel like we've been raped, food-wise and money-wise. I've had much better at the Japanese Restaurant down the street from them. Never again.

The service was great! The waiter noticed that our order was messed up (one of the rolls was different from what we've ordered) and brought it to us at no charge.

The chairs were really uncomfortable. I felt like I was being sucked into a black hole. There was also a fan blowing against the back of my head. We ordered the garlic edamame, and it felt like my lips were on fire. Between the burning lips, the wind, and the sucking chair, I was extremely uncomfortable. We ate some delicious food, but the overall experience was unpleasant.

When you are charging $22 for a chef's platter of sashimi, offer more then 3 types of common fish. Ginger should be on every platter. Switch to the white ginger. Hire professional wait staff, not cocktail waitresses to work the tables. Tone down the music volume. Cozy up the decor.

From Our Editors

Fuchsia and blue lights cast cream curtains and plush white couches in the last shades of sunset. DJs reinforce the feeling that a thrilling night is just falling by spinning pulsating electronica. The murmur of conversation drifts from the lounge-like dining area to a sushi bar, where chefs twist together maki with white tuna, snow crab, tobiko, and smoked sea salt. Towering stalks of bamboo sway overhead, as though one has traveled to the east or at least sleepwalked into a panda enclosure.
