The class was great and very informative. My daughter in law was using a rental gun and it kept messing up so they made her stop shooting so everyone could finish. She was crying and it made me cry for her, especially because she is pregnant. But then the instructor, Dan took over 30 minutes with her and after his help and a different loner gun she was able to pass the shooting portion. Everyone of us admired the compassion of his desire and dedication to help us not only get our license but do it safely. The one draw back was that it took 8 hours and 15 minutes instead of the 6 hours plus 1 hour for lunch as described on the website. Dan is a very knowledgeable, mega trained instructor and we will be taking a tactical course with him in the future. Be prepared to pay for lunch and bring your own safety glasses or you will have to buy them.

The License To Carry course at Lone Star was great! The instructor was very knowledgeable and not only covered the laws, but gave practical tips for shooting and protecting yourself and your family.

It was a good class. I would recommend teaching the legal aspects and taking the test first and then having the shooting in the afternoon. Everyone is a little more alert in the morning. There were a couple of times that he didn't make the information clear but for the most part he did great.
