Family Pet Shows, Long Island

Family Pet Shows sponsors the Pet Expo—a place for families to visit and learn about wildlife and responsible pet ownership. Here, guests may browse the large assortment of products and services available to pets, such as treats, grooming equipment, and pet hotels displayed by vendors. Participants can also view pet entertainment shows, such as dog ring demonstrations, the champion cat show, a rainforest reptile room, and the birds of prey program. Other special attractions include:

• Central K9: During this show, watch dogs trained by obedience expert, Jessica Edgerly, perform tricks and flips with frisbees
• Parade of Breeds: Dogs who are purebred and over six months old are welcome to walk in the parade of breeds. Here guests can enter their pooches or simply observe the variety of pet breeds out there
• Halloween Pet Costume Contest and Parade: All pets are welcome to dress up and strut their stuff during this pet costume contest
• Rainforest Reptile Shows: This education program taught by Michael Ralbovsky and Joaney Gallagher informs participants of endangered reptiles and their abilities. Get up close to these scaled creatures and learn about their environments
