Once the waiter saw the groupon the service went downhill fast! I had to ask for the drink menu three times; each time I was told that drinks were NOT included (uggg). The waiter came by one time to take our order and a second time to give us the bill... No refills on sodas, second round of drinks, or to even see how the food was... But he added a 20% tip. I asked if this could be adjusted and he laughed and said no!!! I checked the fine print on my groupon, there was no required 20% tip, so I called the owner. She said that she would refund 100% of what we had paid beyond the Groupon $31+ plus the $26+ tip.... The full amount was just charged to my CC this morning. Now the phone at the restaraunt is dialing busy (all day) - Not a place that I would recomendation to anyone. A real shame.

Food was so-so. Waiter aapparently did not like Groupon coupon customers. Got the feeling we were tolerated rather than welcomed, especially since we are not drinkers. In your description of the restaurant, Groupon needs to inform customers that this establishment adds 20% tip automatically to the bill, whether the service deserved it or not!!!

Service was exceptional. We got in and out with plenty of time for the 8:00 play. Food was very good.

Ended up going with 3 people and the 3rd person ordered food on their own. At first the wait staff did not want to seat us but quickly changed their mind after realizing the restaurant was empty and could accommodate. Ordered two appetizers and two entrees plus an entree not included in the groupon. The groupon total was deducted from the bill, the entree separate was added to the bill which was fine. We ordered two iced teas and water with lemon which added $14 to the bill. I was shocked at how much of an inflation was the cost of serving a relatively inexpensive drink. It would have been more cost effective to order alcohol. The price of iced tea alone is borderline robbery.

Read fine print. The eatery adds on tip, tax and if you order over $35. they charge the difference. The wait staff were not pleasant either.

From Our Editors

A lavish outpost of the famed Roman restaurant where fettuccine alfredo was introduced in 1914, Alfredo 100 fuses Italy’s history and New York City’s panache. The eatery’s signature dish arrives with little fanfare—a golden nest of egg noodles, creamy sauce, and parmesan—allowing guests to taste fettuccine alfredo in the demure fashion it was conceived: pasta patriarch Alfredo whipped up the recipe in an effort to restore the appetite of his pregnant wife. The rest of the menu is a display of traditional Italian favorites, including caprese salad, saltimbocca, and risotto.

Situated near Central Park, Alfredo 100 pays tribute to the Big Apple's brassy past with a colorful art-deco interior filled with black-and-white pictures of New York City luminaries. Many of the stills show Italian-American icons—including Frank Sinatra and Sophia Loren—connecting the two cultures more effectively than a walking bridge over the Atlantic.
