There is a little waiting involved, but be patient it's worth it.

Please be more consistent with the portions. Stop skimping on portions because of a patron having a groupon. That is the best way to sample and come back for more. Make sure you put the Plantian in he meals that call for them. Don't rush the food, our last visit the chicken was dry. I do wish you would not chop up the meat so much.

The service was slow and I was the only person. They did have the two things I wanted. So I had to settle for what they had. The rice pan was empty and they scrap the pan to provide rice for my two dinners. They didn't have any fresh rice prepared. The food wasn't good. Cabbage taste American. Fish was over cooked and stiff and chewy. Also the sauce was salty. I would not come back. Completely unsatisfied. Ooh, yeah it was around 5 where I would of thought fresh food would be prepared for people coming off work. They had small portions.

The food that I tried was good, but there were 3 items that I tried to order that they did not have available. I ordered at around 4 pm and they do not close until 10 so I didn't expect that so many things would be unavailable.

It felt like genuinely stepping into an island cafe, with the fan blowing and reggae music. You go up to the counter and they serve up whatever you want from the buffet...jerk chicken, oxtail, veggies, curried goat, callaloo, plantains, and the most delicious beans and rice. Don't expect American-style full service at this cute hole-in-the-wall gem, but the food is so good, we went back the next week and paid regular price. Thanks, Groupon! I would have never discovered this wonderful place without you!

From Our Editors

Caribbean Dutch Pot Restaurant's owner and culinary captain, Ras Prince, layers plates with traditional Jamaican fare. Prince draws from spice-heavy Caribbean recipes, incorporating chicken, goat, and seafood to silence stomach rumbles without diners having to snack on soundproof insulation. Events such as karaoke, culturally focused open-mic-poetry nights, and live reggae bands on Saturdays and Sundays further imbue the intimate space with a spirited, tropical atmosphere. That atmosphere will be carried over to Woodlawn Memorial Park in July when the Restaurant hosts a Reggae Jerk Festival. Inside the restaurant, elements of Caribbean design, such as bamboo accents and tables topped in reed placemats, complement brightly colored walls and free wireless internet routed through a coconut.
