About The Fix Burger Bar

Seared foie gras. Espresso bacon. Short ribs. Those might sound like courses at an exclusive restaurant, but they're really just 3 of more than 25 potential toppings that crown the burgers at The Fix Burger Bar. Like a blindfolded sculptor, the chefs here never quite know what their next creation is going to be. That's because they let diners design their own award-winning burgers, starting with patties of house-ground chuck, lamb, tuna, veggies, or other choices. Toppings, cheese, and sauce come next, perhaps pairing herb goat cheese with truffle aioli.

Of course, the chefs do have some tried and true recipes under their belts, including a ginger garlic turkey burger covered in Gouda and sweet chili slaw on a sesame bun. A similar approach extends to the bar, where patrons might order a fix-your-own bourbon with a choice of bitters, ice, garnish, and sugar, or might opt for a predesigned drink. These latter include house made sodas, craft beer cans, and egg creams—optionally spiked with bourbon.

Great burgers, awesome beer list and the available salad bar is nice change of pace to the usual fries or chips!

New location for this restaurant. It occupies the former city stalwart "Northworks" location with major layout, updates and upgrades to that iconic old place. Perhaps a bit of wasted space that may reduce the feel of a warm neighborhood spot but that also means there is space for your group of family and friends to spread out and be comfortable that you are not invading some other patron's elbow room. It is a trade off but to my mind an easy compromise. Craft beers that are not just trendy, they are quality and interesting and not just another "toss a pumpkin in it and call it craft" assortment. There are some genuine gems in the well curated selection and I mean to try them all over time. The main course are the burgers. The selection is as wide as any premium burger place can offer and the fun special creations are delicious if not a bit of burger joy. Of course you can create your own as you would expect. The breads and buns are fresh and perfectly sized to capture and hold the cornucopia of toppings you pile on your burger. Vegans, bison lovers and turkey conscious patrons will find more then a few choices to try out, grass fed, organic and perfectly prepared. Add this spot to your list of regular places for a quick meal or for a place to hang out and enjoy a few beers with friends and family. It was a winner when it was on Shrewsbury street and now there is lots more space to join in!

The best Kobe burgers and homemade potato chips I have ever had in my life. The staff is phenomenal and witty! I stumbled upon this place over a year ago and have told at least two dozen people about it. Rock on, The Fix!
