Front or Rear Brake Pad Replacement with Inspection
I went today to get a brake pad replacement. I called prior to make sure what the price would be which was $120 and the guy at the front desk confirmed. I waited about two hours for the brake pad replacement. They advised me that I also needed my rotors replaced which I politely declined as I only wanted the brake pads replaced at this time. In response to that, the guy at the front desk let me know that they could not confirm the longevity of my brake pads, which I completely understood. When it came time to pay for my brake pad replacement, I advised that I purchased my service through Groupon in which he then advised that my brake pads costed more than the generic price on the Groupon website. I have a 2019 Hyundai ELANTRA so that made absolutely no sense to me and at that point, I felt like he was trying to get over on me. Keep in mind, they have a book log of everyone that comes in and on the sheet for today, you could see that people were listing their Groupon voucher numbers on that sheet so I know that they’re aware of their Groupon listing. He then proceeded to tell me that the price I pay on Groupon was going to be the same price I paid with him which again, made no sense to me because he said that it would be $120, plus tax, plus a 3% processing fee from the card machine when on Groupon you’re just paying $120. Most processing fees are charged to the merchant, not the customer and so I proceeded to ask him what type of processing machine does he use because I have used car processor before and I know this. After going back-and-forth a few times, he then had an attitude and proceeded to tell me to just purchase my service on Groupon. He then told me if I purchased on Groupon, that it would take almost 45 minutes for the vouchers to come through on his end, which I knew was a lie, so I told him that I have time to wait because I wanted my price honored. Once I paid on Groupon and provided my voucher number, he then proceeded to give me the keys and there was no wait for my vehicle. Overall, I didn’t mind the two hour wait. And had I not had that mishap with the guy at the front desk I would’ve rated my service with 5 stars. Their prices are fair and I think moving forward they should honor the prices that they list on websites like Groupon… if they don’t like it, the n they should change the price. Simple. However I got my car back, and I can definitely tell that my brakes feel different without having the rotors replaced so I will be back to get my rotors replaced like I had mentioned to the guy at the front desk.
