Mother of four and the creative force behind A Latte Fun Indoor Playground & Café, Leigh Kendall drew on the input of other moms to craft an engaging indoor playground for little ones paired with a cozy café for parents. Tots ages 6 months–6 years expend energy throughout 6,000 square feet of play space under the watchful gaze of supervisors trained to encourage creative, safe play and deliver dramatic retellings of the Itsy Bitsy Spider's fateful tale. Boisterous bounders can relieve any pent-up springiness on the floor-level trampoline, giant inflatable slide, or twisty slide that ends in a foam pit. Video games and violently themed toys are banned from the imagination haven, as the facility focuses more on education and creative play with such amusements as a costume dress-up area, pretend tree house, and separate space for infants and crawlers younger than the age of 2.
Parents can join in the fun or, if children meet the criteria to play alone, recline in the relaxing attached café, where they can sip on a latte or cappuccino (not included), read, get work done, browse the internet with free WiFi access, or simply talk to another adult without lapsing into a baby-talk presentation of quarterly fiscal projections.
Playground equipment varies by location.
A Latte Fun Indoor Playground and Café
A Latte Fun Indoor Playground and Café brims with happy chatter, which drifts from regular classes, special events, and open playtime seven days a week.
Children frolic across multicolored carpeted floors in a 6,000-square-foot playroom, exploring climbing structures, foam pits, and a floor-level trampoline that is kept safe by rounded edges, extensive padding, and declawed teddy bears. The playground eschews video games, prize games, and violent toys, instead letting older children don animal costumes in the dress-up area, while toddlers younger than 2 romp in their own play pit and toy bins. Cool zephyrs of air conditioning sweep contented sighs away from zebra-print sofas or onyx-hued wooden tables, where adults peruse a gourmet café menu. A boutique toy store extends the center's positive attitude toward play into homes with a slew of unique gifts and rare and eclectic toys.
A private room reverberates with the youthful energy of A Latte Fun Indoor Playground and Café's classes, formal functions, and parties, which staff members provide with refreshments, cake, and decorations. At least two assistants remain on hand at kids’ events to provide full setup, cleanup, and supervision to ward off squabbles that arise when imaginary friends show up wearing the same outfits.
