What You'll Get
The best part of kayaking is the exhilaration of exploration, up until you realize the difficulty of paddling through pudding in your bathtub and must face yourself in the mirror. Take to real rivers with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $49 for a three-hour beginner kayaking trip (a $99 value)
- $90 for a three-hour beginner kayaking trip for two (a $198 value)
- $149 for a three-hour beginner kayaking trip for four (a $396 value)
Trips begin on land with a 30-minute kayak-equipment introduction before instructors take guests onto a calm section of river for posture, balance, and stroke lessons. Excursions then make their way down the Hiwassee River's class I and II rapids where beginners master river-running strategies such as turning into currents (peeling out) and navigating from shore to shore (ferrying).

About Ace Kayaking School
After paddling his way into the U.S. Olympic Team–trial finals twice, Jeff West, founder of Ace Kayaking School, began sharing his love of the sport with readers of popular publications and more than 5,000 eager students. Striving for a maximum 3:1 instructor to student ratio in all of his courses, Jeff and his team teach key skills to beginners and experienced rollers alike while gliding down the Ocoee River's famous Table Saw rapids. In addition to whitewater kayaking, Ace teaches stand-up paddleboarding and the advanced waterfall navigating techniques of creek boating and freefalling in a barrel.
