What You'll Get

The best way to capture a wild, rampaging meal is to hook it with a gigantic pasta lasso. Test your throwin' arm with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Italian fare and drinks at Amici's Italian Restaurant.

Amici's dishes up a slew of authentic Italian entrees, calzones, and sautés that earned commendation as one of the area's 10-best-Italian restaurants from MadeMan. Calzones bubble with a combination of mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, marinara sauce, and pepperoni designed to keep napkins gainfully employed ($13.95, $2 for each extra topping). Entrees find themselves on an even playing ground where shrimp diavolo, a plate of spicy shrimp tossed with capers, broccoli, and pasta in a garlic-butter sauce ($16.50), joust for glory against the classic linguine puttanesca, served with spicy marinara, olives, and capers ($16). Like a delicious game of Jenga, the chicken Botticelli artfully stacks a chicken breast with provolone and smoked ham before precariously topping it with a creamy sauce ($16.95).

Free parking, patio seating, and the quaint elegance emanating from Amici's crimson table settings and deep-hued paintings ensure a relaxing evening uninterrupted by the constant search for tow trucks through the charming picture window.

MadeMan named Amici's Italian Restaurant one of the 10 Best Italian Restaurants in Indianapolis. At Home in Indy, HelloMetro and Fun City Finder all positively reviewed the business. Although some reviewers have mixed opinions about the food, many customers praise the service. Eight Yelpers give the business an average of three stars, Citysearchers give it a three-star average and TripAdvisors give it an average of three owl eyes.

  • With quaint decoration -- including paintings by local artists, many for sale -- and a low-key color scheme with a warm Mediterranean flair, the feeling is one of stepping back in time into a small family-run Sicilian cafe. – Christopher Lloyd, HelloMetro
  • Let me say that the service was excellent..our waiter was attentive, but not too intruding. – shutterbug2, TripAdvisor

About Amici’s Italian Restaurant

It's the mid-1980s. In the farmers’ market off South Street, a group of friends discuss a fondness for Sicilian food. The good stuff is hard to come by outside of Sicily or Mom's kitchen. So in a spark of inspiration, the group begins tossing around ideas for Amici's—the Italian word for friends. Today, a central dining room evokes thoughts of marinara with vibrant red walls and burgundy tablecloths. Another dining room decorated with orange angel paintings and deep green walls silently awaits the dinner rush. Over cheery conversation, tables populate with gooey pizzas, calzones, house-made ice cream, and hearty pastas dressed in pesto, pink caper cream, and alfredo sauces. Guests can also retreat to the fenced-in outdoor patio laden with twinkling string lights, which replicate views of the Italian night sky when blinking rapidly.
