Mood rings offer convenient color-coded glimpses into our emotional state: red indicates stress, yellow suggests blinding rage, and green means rich in vitamins, cellulose, and fiber. Get in the mood for green with today's Groupon: for $9, you get $18 worth of vegetarian Vietnamese fare at Andy Nguyen's.

Amid a décor inspired by the simple, clean styles of Buddhism, Andy Nguyen shakes the taste buds—like sudden gusts in a forest—with delicate soy "meats" and a variety of Zen-themed dishes. The Treasure Rolls, filled with rice noodles, soy shrimp, grilled tofu ham, Asian herbs, carrots, daikon, crushed peanuts and crispy lotus strips, lead the tongue on an eight-fold path toward Universal Love Lemongrass, a dish of sautéed soy chicken, mushrooms, onions, tofu, and vegetables in a spicy lemongrass sauce ($10). Other paths toward the absence of appetite include a selection of simple salads ($9–$10), fire-grilled entrees ($9–$11), and replacing your stomach with a plastic tub containing the vice-presidential action figures you can't bear to throw away.

Andy Nguyen Vegetarian

Vietnamese and Chinese influences coalesce at Andy Nguyen Vegetarian , named among the top three vegetarian spots in the city according to CityVoter. A Buddhist-inspired ethos permeates every aspect of the restaurant, from its peaceful dining room with rich crimson accents to its dishes made from whole foods that were harvested right after being massaged.

Noodles are put to many uses in the kitchen, swirling around soups, adding heartiness to rice-paper rolls with lemongrass shiitake mushrooms, and laying the foundation for the Awakening of Faith dish with lotus rolls, sprouts, and grilled soy meat. The Ten Thousand Buddhas burger draws inspiration from Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches, with a soy-beef patty topped with tofu pâté, cilantro, vegan mayo, and carrot-daikon slaw. Loose-leaf teas and freshly squeezed juices complement the healthful meals.
