The lesson was great! Very informative and the instructor has a very illustrious background. Glad I took my course through him.

In response to the owners reply to my original feedback....... It is YOUR job to provide up to date information. That is why we pay to take the class. Saying that the information you had was out if day is no excuse. You mentioned that it was effective in 2016....that's 2 years of classes you have been teaching wrong information to. I am glad that you have corrected your future curriculum. Thank you for that. You also kind of blew it off as if you don't get caught with the gun in your car on federal property then you aren't breaking the law. I am a little ashamed of you. You even mentioned that you work for the Trump administration. Shame on you. You are a federal employee and you are just telling people to not get caught doing something wrong that they could avoid easily. What's really bothering me is that you keep defending yourself when you have how many innocent people who have previously taken your class who you have specifficly told they can take the fire arm in the vehicle and these innocent people are just doing what an instructor who is supposed to be teaching them the law told them is legal. Your response should not be how many of you have gotten caught....

Just a couple of things in response to this comment. There are several advantages to having a concealed weapons permit in Arizona. The commenter refers to one of them, the ability to bypass the background check. A more important reason is for reciprocity/recognition with 36 states that will allow Arizona residents with a CCW to carry while visiting. Regarding the lack of range time in our class, Arizona dropped the requirement for range time when the law changed in 2012. Our class is clearly advertised as not having range time. The range facility where we deliver the class charges $15 per student for range time. If we did include range time as part of the course at the price we sell if for on GroupOn, we would essentially make zero dollars per student. If the student wanted range time, they should have paid more and signed up for a class that offers it. In fairness, the commenter is leaving out the issue that there was a disagreement on, specifically whether or not an individual can legally have a firearm in their vehicle in a post office parking lot. Originally, there was a Federal District court decision from 2013 that stated that a person could have a firearm in their vehicle in a parking lot. Later a Court of Appeals decision in 2015 overturned this District court ruling. Finally, there was a Supreme Court decision in 2016 affirming the decision of the appellate court. When the student later emailed me information from a concealed carry magazine article about this topic, I researched the topic further and found that he was, in fact, correct, and I told him so in my email reply. I went back and read the email I sent him and thought I was just being factual. Apparently that was interpreted as arrogance on my part. Go figure. Further, to try and say that I am placing my students at risk of committing a felony with my error on this bit of information is unbelievably misleading. How many of you have had your car subjected to a search by law enforcement when you drive into the post office parking lot? This is what would have to happen to be caught committing this “felony”. Bottom line, the information I had was simply out of date. There was no intent to mislead. What was correct information at one point was reversed in a multi-year court case that had virtually no visibility outside the CCW community. I admitted my mistake and corrected the information in my curriculum. To use this single error to imply that I don’t know my subject matter is unfair, inappropriate and ignores the value of the other information delivered over a four hour course.
