What You'll Get
Circus bears untrained in the art of dance are often the least popular big-top attraction, falling somewhere between the bearded lady and a slice of stale rye bread on a pedestal. Ensure an appearance in the spotlight with today's Groupon: for $59, you get two private dance lessons and two group classes at Arthur Murray Dance Studio (a $275 value). This Groupon is valid at locations in Roxbury/Ledgewood, Denville, Chatham, Ridgewood, and Kenilworth.
The certified instructors at Arthur Murray Dance Studio summon their knowledge of coordinated rhythmic motion to help beginner boogiers unleash their inner Astaire. Bring a partner or fly solo with the instructor during two private 30-minute lessons, where the dancing doyens drill feet in the basic steps of any of 11 different dances. Prepare an elegant wedding waltz, impress friends with the dramatic staccato stylings of the tango, or try your feet at disco dancing for a crash course in funky freeform beats and proper care of polyester suits.
In group classes, students meet other burgeoning booty shakers and showcase moves while filling out rolodexes with new acquaintances’ beeper numbers. Whether you're an experienced dancer hoping to brush up on certain techniques or you have two left feet for feet and two right feet for hands, Arthur Murray’s friendly and patient instructors can adjust the pace to your individual needs.
Classes cannot be split between two people. This Groupon is valid for new students only.

About Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Ridgewood
Arthur Murray Dance Studio has been a leading name in franchise dance since 1912, when the entrepreneur began selling mail-order dance lessons. Expanding his reach, he enlisted teachers to spread his signature dance lessons on first-class steamships and skyrocketed to fame in the '30s after introducing the public to such dances as the Lambeth Walk and the Big Apple. By the 1950s, Arthur and his wife, Kathryn, were hosting their own highly popular TV show on ABC, the Arthur Murray Dance Party, which ran for 12 years. Today, Arthur Murray's team prepares students for rug cutting at special events and weekend nightclub jaunts. Clients who arrive to lessons partnerless will be paired up with other classmates as the instructors assess their current skill level and make recommendations on the most appropriate program. Throughout lessons, instructors teach the foundations of two to four dances from a long list of styles that range from Latin to country-western, helping students to learn basic step patterns, timing, and the ability to lead or follow.
