If you're shaking during your workout at the Barre Co. studio, then you're probably doing something right. During total-body barre workouts, instructors lead you through static stretching and isometric strength moves to sculpt and tone the core, arms, glutes, and thighs. While holding these poses, you'll make small movements to create resistance—which is where the shaking comes in; the smaller the movement, the harder your muscles are working. It's a technique that combines moves from Pilates, ballet, and the Lotte Berk Method, and is designed to show noticeable results quickly. To get the most out of the workout, instructors suggest three or more classes per week.
