Even with their sights set on eternal glory, the well-greaved Achaeans besieging Troy had to break for dinner. Today's Groupon brings bounteous Hellenic fare across the wine-dark sea and straight into your mouth, the skilled breaker of horses: for $10, you get $25 worth of Mediterranean fare and more at Basils Greek Dining, located in Aurora.

Basils Greek Dining mixes Old World tradition with contemporary culinary techniques to satisfy diners yearning for Mediterranean flavors and Greek comfort food. Named after the royal herb of Greece, Basils bestows an aromatic blend of herbs and spices on each of the menu’s entrees, starting with the spanakopita, with fresh spinach, basil, and piquant feta cheese stuffed inside baked phyllo pastry dough ($12–$14). The chicken lemonati excites flavor buds with a mixture of sautéed chicken breast, fresh mushrooms, artichokes, and pasta ($14–$16). Loquacious lamb lovers are allowed to simultaneously eat and talk with the Colorado roast lamb, oven-roasted meat garnished with garlic, oregano, and olive oil ($16–$18). Those tired of French, Italian, and Sub-Antarctic wine can sip the Greek’s take on vino, as Basils' list brims with dozens of options, from the silky Tsantalis Makedonikos red ($7 per glass) to the floral-noted Skouras Moschofilero white ($6 per glass).

Basils’ dining room exudes elegance, coated in hardwood floors and white tablecloths. Although classy to the max, Basils welcomes potentially messy families with a friendly staff and zero attitude. And, as Basils is contributing to the G-Team campaign for Inspiration Corporation and its fight against homelessness, Basils comes with a delicious philanthropic streak as well.

Basil's Greek Dining has more than 30 Yelpers giving it a four-star average rating.

Customer Reviews

Great food

Voted one of the best restaurants in Naperville for a reason. The food is excellent and the service impeccable. My favorite the grilled salmon but everything is delicious there with ample serving sizes. Plenty to take home afterwards. All authentic and super clean place. Wonderful outdoor patio with fire pit for European dining.
