What You'll Get
The miracle of time has been known to turn grape juice into wine, compressed rocks into diamonds, and hula-girl tattoos into hula-grandma tattoos. Celebrate things that age well with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get a wine-tasting flight and mini cupcakes for two at Bellavino Wine Bar (a $54 value).
Bellavino Wine Bar culls unique wines from around the world for in-house tastings, educational classes, and simple savoring. Twosomes will receive a pair of tasting flights of red or white wine, and each flight will be accompanied by three mini cupcakes from Sweet Arleen’s. Imbibers will sample an expansive collection of time-blessed vintages that includes the ’07 Roccapia chianti, a robust and bright cherry-flavored wine that hails from Italy, as well as the subtly complicated ’09 Le Marsure pinot grigio, an Italian wine that speaks softly and carries a medium-bodied stick. Arleen Scavone, owner of Sweet Arleen’s and winner of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, prepares one sweet and one savory mini cupcake to pair with each flight; customers then get three of one option to serve as a counterpoint to the robust flavors of the wine samples. Call ahead for a reservation.

About Bellavino Wine Bar & Restaurant
Wine expert Richard Belloff collects striking wines from across the planet to adorn the racks at Bellavino Wine Bar & Restaurant, winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for the last seven years in a row as well as the Ventura County Star's 2013 Readers' Choice award for best wine bar. Beneath the high, glittering lights of the dining room, a full menu of bar bites, entrees, cheeses, and charcuterie complement wines by the glass and bottle. At the wine bar, Chilean Apaltagua pinot noir and Sierra Madre chardonnay dance modestly inside glasses to the soundtrack of live musical acts playing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
