Impossible to reach them if you have a problem with your Groupon. Groupon doesn't work on their website and you can leave messages, text, and call and they will never answer you. Thankfully, Groupon gave me a refund and let me exchange it for something else.
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
First, trying to make reservations at this establishment was a ridiculous process. I called for 1 ½ weeks trying to contact someone. I sent emails and even texted which was requested on the business voicemail. No one ever reached back out to me. I even went to their website and used their messaging functionality which did not work. HINDSIGHT: THIS WAS MY FIRST WARNING.
There was a Groupon available for 1 person, 2 people and 4 people. My friends and I, 10 in total, purchased these and still could not make reservations online which is required according to the business’ website. One friend was charged an extra $5.00pp even after purchasing the Groupon when she finally was able to book (only with the 2 person bookings). The website did not allow others to make individual reservations (1 person) and there was NEVER an answer when calling to make the reservation.
Finally, someone sent me a text with no introduction, just a “Hi. You wanted to book an escape room.” When I tried to book a timeslot I was told that there would be a birthday party being held during this time therefore I could only have the later timeslot. This however the website that indicated that all timeslots had availabilities.
The website also indicates that we should arrive 15-20m prior to the start of the escape room session. We arrived 30m early and there was NO ONE THERE. We waited 15m and finally a woman who I believe is the owner Vanessa came with a teenager and told us they needed time to setup. Not really apologetic just “give them time because we were too early”. Where was this birthday party that was supposed to be happening prior to my timeslot?
IT GETS WORSE….
All 10 in my party were present and ready to go! We finally were ushered into a VERY SMALL entry room. There was not a good intro to the game but we were all excited! Vanessa was personable enough. The teen even contributed a sentence or two. We were then told to go into the escape room. IT WAS SO SMALL especially for 10 people and what was worse THERE WAS NO AIR. It was dusty and there were never any clues given. NOTHING.
We didn’t need instruction and within 15m found things without any order or direction but one item, one main item we were told we would find. After searching and finding items the things we found were already open as if they forgot to reset the room completely. The one thing Vanessa said is that until we found a “black light” we wouldn’t be able to finish. We spent another 15m just looking for this, sweating and hot in extremely low light only to have to bang on the door because no one was monitoring or even helping when necessary. Again, NO CLUES were given. We banged again and finally received a response where we asked questions. FINALLY, we call Vanessa in because we realize something is wrong. GET THIS… the black light, the actual item needed to give the final clue to get out of the room WAS NEVER PLACED IN THE ROOM!!!!! Vanessa called someone outside the room multiple times and when she came in the room searched as we did with no success in finding it.
WE WERE OFFERED NO REFUND! WE WERE NOT EVEN OFFERED AN APOLOGY! IF we did not have another reservation to attend to we would have stayed and demanded recompense however we were desperate for fresh air and out of time. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESCAPE ROOM and will be posting this review everywhere possible. The room had no ventilation, it was too small for a large group, the communication was beyond poor and there was no solving the mystery as clues were open or missing.

About Black Hat Quest and Escape Room
Players at Black Hat Quest and Escape Room often find themselves in the ironic position of having so much fun that they don't want to solve the puzzle and escape. But that's the situation in which players find themselves; after choosing between one of two inventive scenarios, players have just 60 minutes to puzzle out the clues and riddles required to escape on time, with an additional 30 minutes for pre- and post-game activities. Read on to learn more about each room:
Fly into Fantasy: An electromagnetic pulse rips the fabric of space and opened a portal into a fantasy world—pulling in your passenger plane. You must save the lives of 300 passengers by using a self-relocating world map but essential parts of the map are missing somewhere in the room. By placing all the missing pieces in correctly, you will restore the natural order of the universe and bring the people back. Special agents placed a countdown clock to track the time before the map relocates itself. You have just under an hour left to save everyone.
Jurassic Takeover: Scientists have determined that a glitch in the use of a top secret time-machine has resulted in a phenomenon leading to the appearance of dinosaurs throughout the New York Metro area over the past 72 hours. At the same time, this glitch is sending innocent people back to the Jurassic era. To reboot the time machine, the emergency code has to be entered into keypad in the bar where professor was last seen in. Based on the records gathered, the code is hidden in the room and it's your job to find it in 60 minutes.
