Completing a DIY project can be one of the most rewarding feelings in life, even if it does eventually end with your being torched and pitchforked by a mob of enraged villagers. Bring a drinkable, delectable creation to life with today's deal: for $79, you get a beer-brewing party—which includes one 12.4 gallon batch of beer, use of brewery facilities, and expert guidance for up to 10 beer lovers (up to a $160 value)—at Brew It Up!. The Groupon covers brewing costs only; bottles, labels, and food and drink are not included. A few types of beer offered are more expensive and will therefore increase the value of the package to more than $160—beer enthusiasts will have to pay the difference if they choose those types.
Brew It Up!'s craft-beer crafting menu treats teams of up to 10 people to a massively variegated panorama of brew-party options: ales of pale, red, brown, or whiter shades, wheat beer, malt-bomber bocks, hoppy pilsner, dark European lager, and deadly serious imperial stouts. Over the course of three-and-a-half to four hours, you and your fellow hops hobbyists will learn how to brew, mix, and bottle whatever beer you choose. Beermaking ain't always clean, so come wearing comfortable lederhosen. Once your cauldron's worth of oatmeal stoutness ($160) or nut-brown aleness ($150) has fermented for two to six weeks, you'll return to evenly distribute it among 72 bottles or a keg. And if you don't mind paying a little extra, you can throw your own Munich-themed beer bacchanal with a batch of Oktoberfest lager ($170) or get forwardly festive with a stockpile of Holiday red ale ($198).
The brewing party creates enough delectably malted barley liquid to fill 72 22-ounce bottles or one keg, which as you'll remember from grade school is slightly more beer than a firkin but less than a puncheon. Once you've emptied the keg, simply return it to reclaim your deposit (call for more information). Brew It Up! also has a restaurant and bar on-site, so grab a menu in case drinkmaking proves to be thirsty, hungry work. Call ahead to schedule your brew party at Brew It Up!.
Bottles and labels are not included; six cases (72) of 22-ounce bottles are $72, and labels are $2.50 for a sheet of six.
