Following the directions to do the "Medical" part of the mission takes a long time. Often run out of time before getting all the data.

Awesome day for my 6 and 8 year old grandkids. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Junior astronaut program ended with launching rockets the children made. FUN!

After a brief training session, a group of 30 amateur astronauts, scientists and engineers board a spacecraft or take their place in mission control to assemble a satellite, navigate to their destination, and gather data using real robotic arms. Mission simulations are recommended for guests aged 11 and older, except for the Junior Astronauts program, which is recommended for guests aged 6—10. See available missions.

Must be 6 or older. Reservation required. Jr. Astronaut mission is good for ages 6-10 and their families, other missions are good for ages 11 and up. Public missions are only held on select Saturdays; visit http://www.challengerstl.org/our-programs/public-programs/ for available dates. Children 10 and under participating in the Jr. Astronauts mission must be accompanied by an adult (adult counts as a participant with the Groupon, or is subject to a $15 admission cost). About Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis
The astronauts deftly dodge the oncoming trickle of rocks and debris from the meteor shower, and as the rubble clears they see the Moon up ahead. It is at this site that they’ll soon establish the first permanent human base. Though it sounds like science fiction, novice astronauts attempt this feat daily at Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis. Part of the Challenger Center for Space Science Education—a nonprofit founded by the families of the astronauts who were lost in the 1986 Challenger space-shuttle mission—the center educates and inspires visitors through simulated space missions and other science education programs. Whether navigating a spacecraft or assisting astronauts in Mission Control modeled after NASA’s Johnson Space Center, student, community, and corporate groups must maintain a cooperative spirit while completing their mission.
