Cora Breakfast & Lunch
The first Cora Breakfast & Lunch restaurant was a small 29-seat diner on Côte-Vertu Road in Montréal, which the indomitable Cora Tsouflidou purchased in 1987. Faced with the task of turning the diner into basically anything she wanted, Cora decided to go the revolutionary route and make breakfast the main attraction—a concept that was fairly new to Quebec at the time.
Nearly three decades later, that first Chez Cora has grown into a family of more than 130 restaurants. All the same, Cora is still most renowned for her breakfasts, many of which her own children helped devise. There's Fruit Magic, a sundae glass filled with homemade custard and garnished with skewers of sliced fruit. There's also 1990s Harvest, an open-faced brioche sandwich. And, while breakfast will always be the star, Cora Breakfast & Lunch is also home to some deliciously inventive lunch dishes. Stop by on a weekday afternoon to try the pulled-pork macaroni and cheese au gratin.
