To quote Interior Design magazine, "The David Barton Gym rocks." These gyms are as much about design as they are function. Walking into a DavidBartonGym is like entering a dreamscape. The Bellevue location bathes in a neon pink glow. Star-like lighting fixtures twinkle amidst the darkness of the rafters. In the reception area, the floors curve up to meet the walls, like a wood-paneled half pipe just waiting for a local skater to brave them.
While the decor may be whimsical, the fitness floor embraces function. Members can hit treadmills, lift weights, or pedal on stationary cycles. They can also work up a sweat in group fitness classes, which mix familiar workouts with more unusual offerings. After stretching and strengthening in yoga and Pilates, they can head to the Guns class to build the the massive arm muscles that allow one to shoot their less useful bones out their fingertips.
