Choose Between Two Options

  • $59 for a four-hour photography class for one person (a $395 value)
  • $109 for a four-hour photography class for two people (a $900 value)<p>

During the first two hours of each class, Mike Freeland imparts groups of 12–15 students with basic camera-operating knowledge about f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, white-balance, exposure, and other shooting elements. For the second two hours, students take to the field to apply what they’ve learned during their own photo shoot in downtown Lee’s Summit. Though cameras may be available for use, bringing your own DSLR is preferable. Students should read their entire camera manual before class and arrive at least 20 minutes early. Freeland Photography

Founder and professional shutterbug Mike Freeland calls on more than two decades of photographic experience and camera-handling in shoots ranging from staged portraiture to mostly improvised weddings. Joined by a team of 10 other photo pros, Freeland Photography captures moments during special and corporate events, documents images for commercial businesses' new products, facilities, and client interactions, provides photo coverage for political or advertising campaigns, and invites families into the studio to strike poses before being frozen in carbonite. Freeland Photography was recently inducted into The Knot's Wedding Hall of Fame.

The instructor handled the instruction of a very complicated subject in as clear a way as possible. A lot of information in a short period of time. Recommend a follow up class after you have time to experiment with your camera using the instruction received.

Great class on the basics. I now have a much better understanding of how to operate my DSLR camera. I wish they offered a follow on class.
